The Core Values of The Welcome Mission
A graduate of the University of Arkansas College of Medicine, Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore has served as a radiation oncologist and medical director of radiation oncology at the University of North Carolina Nash Cancer Treatment Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina for more than a decade. In addition to her medical career, Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore dedicates herself to others through her work on the board of The Welcome Mission.
A nonprofit Christian organization, The Welcome Mission was founded by Holly and Marcus Rench. While raising four daughters, the couple recognized the difficulties that woman face on a daily basis and decided to launch a ministry rooted in Christian teachings devoted to helping them. Since its founding, The Welcome Mission has assisted countless women by providing shelter, job training, child care, and other services, while receiving support from organizations such as Fellowship Bible Church, Redeemer Community Church, and the Mustard Seed Company.
All Welcome Mission programs are based on several core Christian values, including the belief that all humans are sinners affected by the Fall and that Jesus Christ sacrificed himself to save humanity from its sins. Additionally, The Welcome Mission holds that all people are made in God’s image and are worthy of dignity. These values support an overall vision of young women flourishing in faith and life through a relationship with God and the Church, as well as their communities.
